1960 All-America Selections Winner! 50 days. Brassica rapa. (F1) Just Right Turnip. This early-maturing plant produces good yields of 4 ½ to 6” diameter turnips. It is a popular turnip variety, prized for its pure-white color, uniformity, mild flavor, and strong cold tolerance. The skin and flesh are pure white! It has mild-flavored roots and delicious greens. Great raw, in stir-fries, soups, stews, salads, or pickles. The greens are also edible and mild. Does well in extremely cold conditions. Stores well. Will store until spring. Sow in summer/fall for fall/winter harvests. Not recommended for spring sowing because it tends to bolt early. Cold Tolerant. Excellent choice for home gardens and market growers. United States Department of Agriculture, G 30479. A variety from the USA.
