Chicory

Red Treviso Chicory

Red Treviso Chicory Seeds

CE6-250
85 days. Cichorium endivia. Open Pollinated. Red Treviso Chicory. The plant produces good yields of beautiful red chicory with white veins. The leaves are tender yet crisp. Adds zest and color to a unique mixed salad. Used in salads or cooked as a vegetable. Try Treviso grilled on the barbecue and drizzled with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. It produces elongated, romaine-like heads with crisp white ribs and leaves that start green in warmer weather and develop a striking deep burgundy-red color with cool autumn temperatures. Colder weather will produce the best color. Ideal for autumn and early winter use. Cold Tolerant. Also known as Rossa di Treviso Radicchio. Excellent choice for home gardens. United States Department of Agriculture, PI 652037. An heirloom variety from Treviso, Italy.
