It is a popular tomato variety prized for producing very large pink beefsteak fruits. They are very sweet, meaty, juicy, and flavorful. Perfect for sandwiches, burgers, salads, and slicing. It is a family heirloom from Lebanon, often associated with the Bekaa Valley or the hill towns. Seeds were brought to the U.S. by Omar Saab, a Lebanese gardener/student who shared them with tomato expert Dr. Carolyn Male. She introduced and named the variety Omar’s Lebanese Tomato around 1996 after it performed outstandingly in her trials. Also known as Omars Lebanese Tomato and Omar Lebanese Tomato.
