1933 All-America Selections Winner! 75 days. Daucus carota. Open Pollinated. Imperator 58 Carrot. The plant produces 9" long deep orange carrots. It is a popular carrot variety prized for producing the long, slender, deep-orange tapered roots commonly found in grocery stores. This is an excellent overall carrot, very flavorful. It is very sweet and tender. These are found in supermarkets because of their uniform size and smooth skin. It does best in loose soils. The original Imperator was developed around 1928 as a cross between Nantes Carrot and Chantenay Carrot. The improved Imperator 58 Carrot was released by Ferry-Morse in 1963. 73 days. Daucus carota. (F1) Purple Haze Carrot. The plant produces sweet and tender 7 to 10" long deep purple skinned carrots with a bright orange core. Excellent fresh in salads or cooked for gourmet dishes. Makes quite a beautiful display when sliced on a relish tray. The carrot retains its color when lightly cooked; however, it loses its vibrant purple color when it is cooked longer. Add color to your favorite dish by growing yellow, white, and purple carrots. Plant seeds between May and July to prevent bolting. An excellent choice for home gardens. A variety from the USA.

60 days. Daucus carota. Open Pollinated. Thumbelina Carrot. The plant produces good yields of small 1 to 2" round orange carrots. Their pumpkin colored orange skin is tender and requires no peeling. Chefs use this variety in gourmet dishes. These baby size carrots are excellent in stews. Very flavorful and retains its orange color when cooked. Stores well. This is a very popular carrot that can be grown in containers. Grows well in clay soil. Excellent choice for home gardens and market growers. A variety from the USA.
