Yellow Onions

The plants produce excellent yields of very flavorful onions. Yellow onions are the all-purpose cooking onion most commonly used in the USA. They have a papery yellow-brown skin and white flesh. Yellow Onions have a strong, pungent flavor when raw, but become sweeter and milder when cooked. Yellow onions are ideal for sauteing, roasting, and carmelizing, and are used as a base for soups and stews because they hold their shape well when cooked.  Many are Cold Tolerant, Drought Tolerant, and Heat Tolerant, and are very dependable producers, even under adverse conditions. It's the one found in your local supermarket and restaurants. Excellent choices for home gardens, Farmer's Markets, market growers, open field production, and commercial growers.
