2015 All-America Selections Winner! 55 days. Brassica oleracea. (F1) Artwork Broccoli. This early maturing plant produces good yields of dark green broccoli. The 6 - 8" heads are tight dome-shaped with small dark green beads. It is very flavorful. It has excellent side shoot production after the main crown harvest. The best way of getting the most out of Artwork Broccoli is to get rid of that central crown quickly. As soon as you do, the side shoots begin to take off. It is very bolt resistant, keeping its tight beads even when the temperature climbs. Suitable for spring and fall planting. Heat Tolerant. Broccoli Planting Information:

Broccoli does best when temperatures remain between 40 F and 70 F during the growing period. Temperatures below 25 F can damage or kill broccoli. Spring planting should occur as soon as soil can be worked and after the last frost, and fall planting should be done 10 to 12 weeks before the first frost. In most areas, broccoli grows best if planted in late summer so it can mature during cool periods. Plants can grow 2 ft tall.

Soil Requirements:

Requires fertile soil in a well-drained location in the garden. Apply mulch, grass clippings, or straw around the base of the plant.

Water Requirements:

Keep well watered or the plant will have premature heading and flowering.

Fertilizer Requirements:

Use Slow Release (6 Month) Fertilizer when transplanting outdoors. Apply Miracle Gro Liquid Fertilizer periodically.

Harvest Tips:

When you begin to see the buds spread out, it is time to harvest. Cut heads with a sharp knife.
