60 days. Brassica oleracea. Open Pollinated. Snowball Self Blanching Cauliflower. The plant produces large 6 to 9" heads of white cauliflower. Great freezing variety. The heads are pure white, and the leaves curl upright. The leaves will self wrap during cool weather, but will not in warm weather. It is good for both early and late season crops. Cauliflower Planting Information:

Cauliflower will not grow well where temperatures average above 75°F or where winter temperatures drop below 25°F. Poor cauliflower is usually a result of improper planting time, low moisture, or low fertility. Plant your seeds indoors 5 to 7 weeks before setting them outside. Spring planting should occur as soon as the soil can be worked, and fall planting should be done around July or August. Plants can grow 12" tall.

Soil Requirements:

Requires fertile soil in a well-drained location in the garden. Apply mulch, grass clippings, or straw around the base of the plant.

Water Requirements:

Water regularly to keep the soil cool and moist. Keep watered during dry and hot spells.

Fertilizer Requirements:

Use Slow Release (6 Month) Fertilizer when transplanting outdoors. Apply Miracle-Gro Liquid Fertilizer every two weeks.

Harvest Tips:

Cut heads below the inner leaves when the heads are about 8" in diameter.
