To ensure a crop, cut the plant to the ground in early fall so that the dark red heads can form. For spring planting, plant seeds 30 days before the last frost, and 70 days before the first autumn frost for a fall crop. Plants can grow 12 - 18" tall.

Use Slow Release (6 Month) Fertilizer when transplanting outdoors. Apply Miracle-Gro Liquid Fertilizer periodically.
You can cut leaves as you need them if you want the plant to produce more leaves, or you can cut the entire plant at ground level.
