Cress Planting Information:

Cress is a curly leaf plant and belongs to a different class of vegetables than watercress. Cress is grown like lettuce and spinach. Cress does not do well in very hot weather. You can have successive plantings throughout the year. Plant the seeds in August for fall harvest. Cress seeds are usually planted directly in the garden. Plants grow 3 - 12" tall.

Soil Requirements:

Requires fertile soil in a well-drained location in the garden. Apply mulch, grass clippings, or straw around the base of the plant.

Water Requirements:

Keep soil consistently moist. Water well during dry and hot spells.

Fertilizer Requirements:

Use Slow Release (6 Month) Fertilizer when transplanting outdoors. Apply Miracle Gro Liquid Fertilizer every two weeks.

Harvest Tips:

You can cut leaves as you need them if you want the plant to produce more leaves, or you can cut the entire plant at ground level.
