Well known as a grain, cover crop and beeplant, but not so well known is its medicinal value. The infusion made from the flowering tops is high in rutin which combats arteriosclerosis (hardening of the arteries and veins). If grown for green manure, best when grown between May and July. For grain harvest, sow 3 months before fall frost. Planting rate for grown cover: 2-3 lb/1,000 sq ft (60 lb./acre), Plant Height: 36" tall. pk/100
