These are called "White Lady" runner beans in England, and ranked as one of the top 5 beans to grow. Use as green beans, or as fresh mature beans, or dry them for later. Save enough to plant next year. I cannot praise runner bean White Lady highly enough; it's practically faultless in all respects. 12" pods have no fiber, and weigh 2.5 to 3 oz. each.
Make sure you have adequate trellis space. Great for creating shade.
Most importantly, White Lady has the thickest, most succulent and tenderest pods in the runner bean world. It's a strong grower and a wonderfully heavy cropper which sets a heavy crop whether we having a dull, wet summer or a sunny, dry one.
Grow them over a trellis for children and gardener's delight.
They grow so tall (15 ft) that I have had the pleasure of clipping them away from the telephone wires.
Make a hole 12 inches deep with a rod. Stuff a small piece of meat to the bottom. Fill the hole, and plant the bean 2 inches deep, 4 inches apart.
